The Christmas Candle

Christmas Candle

I must confess. I’m typically not a big fan of many movies in the Christian genre. I’ve seen my fair share, and I always come away feeling like I’ve supported a worthy cause but not necessarily attended an entertaining movie experience. I never know who the actors are, the writing can be iffy, and the production quality always lacks in comparison to the bigger budget films.

That is not at all the case with what I predict will become a holiday classic for years to come. The film I’m referring to is Max Lucado’s The Christmas Candle. I’m a sucker for good period pieces, and this one is set in a small Victorian English village well over a century ago. The story is by one of my favorite authors, Max Lucado, and the cinematography and production value is fantastic.  Not to mention, the story is heartwarming, endearing, and joyful and points the audience to God’s unfailing love. I was privileged to see the movie in an early premiere, but I will be taking the whole family when it opens tomorrow. Incidentally, tomorrow is also the opening to the sequel of The Hunger Games. But if you’ll take my word for it, this movie is a better investment of your time, and your heart will be better off for it.

The official HD movie trailer is here.

Until next time,
