A Spring Break Opportunity…In 30 Seconds

spring break

Do you remember the nine months leading up to the birth of your first child? It was a special time full of excitement, anxiety, and hope. Inevitably, there was time spent reflecting on all the things we were going to teach our children. (Here is where I also reflect on how naïve I was back then). But that list of lessons was a good list. It was based on how we were brought up and on the positives and negatives that we experienced. The list had not been subject to the hectic nature our lives have become as parents.

So here is the deal. This week may represent the perfect opportunity to revisit the list we made, even if it was just in our heads. And Spring Break often presents some rare down time and often seat time in the car or on the plane with our kids. I have six hours in the car with my boys. A significant portion of that time will be spent talking about the things I thought were important before I was in the trenches of child rearing. How about you?

Until next time…
